Discovery Channel

The Discovery Channel (also known as Discovery) is a cable channel founded in 1985. The channel is known for entertaining educational and documentary shows, as well as Shark Week, an annual week dedicated to shark-themed programing and specials. In 2010, Discovery announced and begun to air Gold Rush (formerly Gold Rush: Alaska). It continues to air Gold Rush, with re-runs also airing on its sister station, TLC.

  • During Fridays and episodes of Gold Rush, an alternate Discovery Logo is used. It uses the same logo but the word "Discovery" has a gold texture and the globe usually rotating in the D is a solid gold sphere rotating.
